The Andes, Wax Palm & Frailejones

Enjoy this wonderful two-day expedition to this amazing ecosystem called Páramo. In this spectacular adventure we will have the privilege of experiencing the transition of ecosystems along the route, starting at 2,400 meters high in the majestic Cocora Valley and its imposing wax palms (the highest in the world), then We will enter into the high Andean rain forests, cloud forests, sub-paramo to finally reach the the páramo over 4,100 meters high, in the central mountain range of the Andes and where we will come across the Frailejon, a typical plant of this ecosystem.

What you can expect!

Day 1
  • 7:00 a.m Breakfast in Salento
  • 7:40 am: Travel by vehicle from Salento to Cocora Valley
  • 8:20: Start the trek (11 Km) over the 2.400 m.a.s.l
